Hello Matt here! I hope you are all well!
This is one of my favourite pedals that I have had for about 2 years now. It is great to have seen Joel at Chase Bliss go from strength to strength with his pedals and work, no supplying pedals and gear to some of the best guitarists in the world and working with some killer players and innovators.
The MXR, whilst lacking a few of the options of other pedals such as tap tempo it has possibly the best analogue pedal delay sound in pedal form.
It has firstly a great footprint size. It is no bigger than a Boss DD pedal so fits on most boards. It again has the side mounted power input that we are banging on about at the minute meaning you can get other pedals nice and close together so no space is wasted.
The EP booster is based on an echo machine pre amp the EP-3, the chosen pre amp for many legendary guitarists. It has an FET design and a low impedance output providing up to 20 db of boost to your signal.
We have used this pedal in 2 ways. Initially at the end of the signal chain, using it almost as a buffer to boost the signal going back into the amp. When working like this it allows you to eliminate any signal lost, and gives a great clean sound when going into the amp, making it nice and punchy.
If you are here, then you are almost certainly a guitarist!
We LOVE pedals! They are great, fun, and mostly the best and most affordable way of getting the live tones that you want from your guitar or bass rig. This page is dedicated to all the pedals we are testing, trying out, doing silly things with and demoing!
Every time we test a new one you will find it here along with a short run down of what we thought about it!
Of course, all the opinions about the pedals are our own, and you should go out, buy them, rent them,
